however, the rest of the course was in\u00a0excellent condition.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_292\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/150525_scotscraig_7th-approach_v2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-292\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-292\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/150525_scotscraig_7th-approach_v2-300x145.jpg\" alt=\"Approach to the 7th at Scotscraig\" width=\"300\" height=\"145\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/150525_scotscraig_7th-approach_v2-300x145.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/150525_scotscraig_7th-approach_v2-1024x494.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-292\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Approach to the 7th at Scotscraig<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Playing with an old family friend, David Husband, a member of Scotscraig for many years, I was reminded of the importance of local knowledge to playing links courses, especially when the ground around the greens becomes so hard, and the need to play the chip and run, sometimes from up to 100 yards out.\u00a0 Even if you&#8217;re not used to this form of the game, its nice to try this\u00a0shot out.<\/p>\n<p>There are some great holes at Scotscraig, with the par 4 fourth hole, stroke index 1,\u00a0being the first major test, played to a steep sided plateau green, over a second shot carry from the fairway &#8211;
