courses, Grantown is a traditional parkland course, with holes 7-12 played through some hilly woodland, without the expected broom and heather.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_445\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/150806_Grantown-on-Spey_12th-green.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-445\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-445\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/150806_Grantown-on-Spey_12th-green-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"12th green Grantown on Spey\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/150806_Grantown-on-Spey_12th-green-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/blog.scotlandgolfbible.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/150806_Grantown-on-Spey_12th-green-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-445\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">12th green Grantown on Spey<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In many ways I think Grantown is overshadowed by the nearby Boat of Garten course, which gets so many accolades, although it is a similar length\u00a0to &#8220;The Boat&#8221;, and represents a good challenge for all.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of condition, it is unparalleled in the area in my view, and gives some of the prestigious more expensive courses a run for their\u00a0money.\u00a0 One of my\u00a0visiting playing partners said &#8220;the last time\u00a0I saw a course so well presented was the K-Club during the Ryder Cup!&#8221;\u00a0 That&#8217;s high praise indeed to the\u00a0small green keeping staff.\u00a0 Considering it has a \u00a329 round change on any day, it scores the highest &#8220;Value for Money&#8221; hole\u00a0is the 275 yard 9th, a short downhill par 4 with a spectacular backdrop\u00a0of the\u00a0Cromdale Hills. There are also views of the Cairngorms.\u00a0 There are\u00a0some difficult holes with out of bounds coming into play regularly for both &#8220;hookers&#8221; and &#8220;slicers&#8221; &#8211; no-one is safe.\u00a0 My favourite holes are the 3rd, 7th, 10th, 12th and 15th.\u00a0 The only tips I would give are take enough club at the par 3 8th and 11th, both played uphill.\u00a0 Also, don&#8217;t have a disaster in the middle of your round like I did (12 over for the 13th, 14th and 15th &#8211;
